On Domestic Installations Of Air Conditioning

We have finally had confirmation from HMRC today (7/4/2022) that most domestic installations of air conditioning will now be VAT free to the end user from 1st April 2022 until 31 March 2027.

Here is a quick summary:

  1. The units must be permanently installed (not mobiles)
  2. They must be capable of heating (nearly all units do anyway)
  3. It includes all installation materials and labour
  4. You can see the full HMRC Release here

In The Home

We are finding more people are choosing to have their bedrooms air conditioned to help them sleep during those long hot summer nights. Then as the winter nights draw in with one press of a button you can comfortably and quickly heat your room. Especially in a loft conversion where you really can see extreme temperatures.

Conservatories Can also be a big problem and you find they are only usable for a few months of the year, as they are either too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter. MrAc can solve this problem. By having an air conditioning unit installed in your conservatory you can maintain the temperature all year round.

Home Office

Typically a home office is tucked away in the loft space, a garage or a cabin in the garden. All these places are difficult to maintain a constant temperature.
It does not matter what room you are looking to air condition in your home, MrAc can supply and install an air conditioning unit to fit your needs.

Man Cave

If you have converted a garage or shed into a Man cave, or got a wooden Cabin in the garden you are using as a bar, you will probably be struggling to keep it cool in the summer.
Be the envy of all you friends, get it Air Conditioned, call MrAc for a free quote.

Air Conditioning Spilt Systems

Probably the most common type of system for domestic installations. There are a few different types of split unit air conditioners which are characterised by the placement of the indoor component:
• Wall mounted: The indoor component is mounted onto a wall of your choice
• Floor standing: A free standing indoor split air conditioner unit with versatility of placement
• Bulkhead: Ideal for areas where discreet installation is preferred, fits flush within the ceiling or bulkhead
• Ceiling cassette: The unit sits in the ceiling towards the center of a room with only the grille showing
The best option will depend on your needs and the layout of your space.
